Anna Klindt Sørensen Garden is a hidden gem in the middle of Ry. Visit the park and enjoy the peaceful surroundings and the beautiful view of Rye Møllesø.
Anna Klindt Sørensen's garden is a small public park in the middle of Ry. The garden is surrounded by trees and borders Ry Møllesø. In the garden, there is a table and bench set, where you are welcome to take a break with a snack or a coffee from one of the local cafes.
The garden is named after the painter Anna Klindt Sørensen, the last owner of the property. When she moved to a nursing home in 1979, she wanted her property and home, Villa Petersborg, to be turned into a museum and a residence for female artists. She fought for the rights of female artists her whole life.
Unfortunately, her wish could not be fulfilled, and after her death, the garden was made a public park, and the Villa Petersborg was sold for private housing. Anna Klindt Sørensen's fortune instead went to establish a grant in her name. A grant that is awarded to young female artists.
Come by and visit the garden in the old part of Ry city. The garden is found behind the city library.
