Låsby Søpark
Låsby Søpark is located on a former industrial site. The major transformation from a closed industrial area in the town to an open and active city park began back in 2013, when Låsby was hit by such heavy rain on Christmas night that the local nursing home was flooded with 5.5 million liters of water. Låsby lies so low that, during cloudbursts, all water from the surrounding area collects in the town. The park was completed in 2016.
Climate-Resilient City Park
The vision for a new climate-resilient city park came about in an unconventional way, through the combination of a specific technical need to climate-proof Låsby and a strong local desire for a shared gathering place.
Additionally, large parts of the town’s sewer system were separated between 2013 and 2018, so that rainwater and wastewater are now handled separately. This means that most of Låsby’s rainwater is directed through stormwater pipes to Låsby Søpark.
Parking
There is a parking lot at Niels Bohrs Vej 7, near Låsby Hallen.
